When and where is commencement?
Date: Saturday, May 13, 2023
Time: 4 p.m.
Location: Under the tent, NVU-Johnson Campus or live-stream at NorthernVermont.edu/Live.
Receptions:
- Join us for a dessert reception immediately following the ceremony.
When do graduating students have to be there?
The Class of 2023 will be expected to line up at 3 p.m. on Saturday afternoon in the SHAPE Gymnasium. Please wear your cap and gown, which is required if you are walking. Don’t bring any personal items with you as there will be no place to store them. Unless you plan on carrying them with you.
Who may participate in the ceremony?
- You must be a matriculated, degree-seeking student.
- You must file a Request to Graduate on-line through the Portal (look for the tile “Plan Your Degree”), by March 24, 2023, at the absolute latest.
- You must have a 2.0 G.P.A. (may be higher for some majors), and a minimum of 120 credits (B.A. and B.S. candidates) or 60 credits (A.A. and A.S. candidates), and must meet all degree requirements in your catalog. Master’s candidates require a minimum of 30 credits.
How long Does the commencement ceremony last?
The event will be approximately 60 to 90 minutes long.
