As an NVU Online student, you have access to all the support services our on-campus participants enjoy, as well as some resources developed specifically for you. Whether this is your first distance-learning course or you’ve participated in online courses before, please take a few minutes to review the resources available to you.
NVU Online courses are delivered via the Moodle learning-management system or e-Learning platform. You will receive an NVU email account and student ID number that you will use to set up a password-protected account on the portal (our internal website) where you can access Moodle. Your NVU email account will be used for all official communications from NVU. Be sure to check your NVU email account for important information regarding course registration, financial aid, and other matters.
Your instructors will communicate with you via your NVU email address and Moodle.
The portal serves as a centralized location to register for classes, check grades, find out about current campus events, chat online with classmates, and receive messages targeted directly to you.
NVU does not mail paper bills; instead, we send bills via email using your NVU email address. You are responsible for checking your NVU email account for date-sensitive messages regarding tuition, fees and payment deadlines.
The NVU Help Desk provides technical assistance related to technology issues. Help Desk staff are available Monday-Friday (except holidays) from 8:15 a.m.-5 p.m. You may contact the Help Desk at Helpdesk.VSC.edu or 800.635.2356, ext. 1415 (802.635.1415 locally).
NVU Online students have access to library resources via computer and email. Visit the NVU-Johnson Willey Library website for more information about how we serve our off-campus students.
Textbooks for online courses can be purchased (or in most cases, rented) from the NVU Summit Bookstore.
