Self-Designed to Meet Your Career Goals
The B.A. in Professional Studies allows you to focus on your goals from minute one. Starting your first semester, you will create a program of study in consultation with your advisor that combines theory with applied, practice-based professional learning in your chosen field and area of specialization. You will develop and submit a degree plan that identifies a focus of study, integrates any existing college credits and prior learning, and outlines the courses and/or internship experiences you propose to take.
During the course of your studies, you will learn about best practices and expected standards in your area of focus while developing strong communication, leadership, and strategic and analytical thinking skills. Earning the B.A. degree requires meeting all general education requirements and completing at least 30 credits in a focused area of study (including at least 15 upper-level credits). Three of those credits are earned through the Senior Seminar in Professional Studies, which involves research and project development as well as class presentations.
A B.A. from Northern Vermont University's online program is an investment that can yield career success. The Professional Studies degree has taken our graduates down many career paths, from criminal justice to human resources, corporate management, business, nonprofit development and more.
You can also choose to complete your program of study using our preplanned tracks.
If spa management is more your area, we have a preplanned program that includes courses in business and wellness and alternative medicine.
